Disney Snow Globes
I have spent hours and hours browsing eBay and admiring all the amazing Disney snow globes that are for sale. While you can still find some new snow globes being sold on the Shop Disney website and other retailers occasionally, it seems that the best globes are being sold on the secondary market. There are so many beautiful pieces that were released by the Disney Store and other retailers so long ago that a lot of them would now be considered to be vintage. Most of the newer globes that Shop Disney is releasing have been limited edition and have a small release quantity. If you are interest in a new release, I always recommend purchasing ASAP, because if it sells out, you will most likely need to pay close to double, if not more on the secondary market later on.

Like most Disney collectibles, the value of these globes seems to increase over time and are usually sold for much more than the original retail price that was paid by the seller. I have many of these beauties on my Wishlist and some are quite expensive. While I do not plan on having a large amount of them in my collection, I do want to have 1-2 different globes per movie that I collect. I received my first two Disney snow globes from one of my best friends for Christmas last year and I absolutely love them. A few globes that I have been on the hunt for are ones for my Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Aladdin, Tiana, and Little Mermaid collections.
As a collector, I am rather picky when it comes to choosing pieces for my collection as I am very particular about the faces of the characters. I have seen numerous snow globes where they have completely missed when it comes to the character’s faces, so they have been passes for me. I particularly love the snow globes that capture a scene or moment from the movie versus just having the characters in the middle on an ordinary base.
I have purchased a few snow globes from eBay that did not have boxes that came with them in order to save some money; however, I will not be doing this again as I have had three out of the four show up broken. Going forward I would definitely recommend purchasing the ones that come with their original box. I have noticed that snow globes tend to have a very large price range from $50-$1,500. The larger and more detailed the snow globe, the higher the price seems to be. I have found a good way to get good deals is to shop the auction section on eBay. You could always try your local Facebook marketplace to see if there are any listings. I have also found a couple of globes at a local second-hand store for very low prices. You may also be able to get a better deal on a globe if you are willing to purchase one that has slight damage. I have come across listings that were almost 50% lower than other listings for the same piece just because it had some very small damage to it that could be corrected with a little bit of paint or glue. Keep in mind that a lot of the larger snow globes are very heavy, so be prepared to see some higher shipping prices.
