Disney Tradition Storybooks

Jim Shore has a beautiful series of Disney Traditions that are figurines that are made to look like a story book. Each one has an iconic scene from the movie carved into it and showcase a phrase from the movie. Like every other Disney Tradition, these pieces are carved from high quality stone resin and are hand painted. Each one of these pieces showcases the classic Disney characters we all know and love with the folk art styling Jim Shore is famous for. Each one of these figurines is approximately 6” tall and is a nice medium sized figurine to add to your Disney collection. You can expect to find Jim Shore signature patterns incorporated into each of these Traditions. 

While some of these story books are newer, there are others that are becoming more and more difficult to find on the market. I am missing the Cinderella, Peter Pan and Snow White ones for my personal collection as they are both now retired and are quite expensive on the secondary market. I have been able to find and purchase Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio and Alice in Wonderland for my collection and not pay above an average retail price for them. I would have to say that my favourite ones in my collection so far are the Alice in Wonderland and Little Mermaid ones, but honestly they are all amazing.

There are also more storybooks available on the market such as Tangled, Mulan, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jim has recently announced that there will be a new Stitch Storybook figurine available for pre-order coming out early next year. I do not recommend that Disney Traditions be purchased for Disney lovers of all ages, due to the fragile nature of these pieces. They are more well suited to an older collector, or a younger collector who is able to have them sitting on a shelf and admire them from a distance.
